A 5 mile drive from ESCAPE. If you drive up to the summit of Mount Equinox there is a visitor’s center and a monastery. There is information about the monastery and the silent Carthusian monks that live there. And there are also very beautiful views. The long windy road up to the summit is a fun ride. If you like Alpacas you will love this place. Sandy runs it and she is an interesting character who loves to give a lot of info and backstory on each of the Alpacas. For $5 each person, you can visit with Alpacas. During the week it’s by appointment and on weekends it’s from 12-4. Definitely call ahead of time to make sure they are open because I don’t know what her hours are with the different seasons.
There is also a souvenir shop with a lot of cute Alpaca related items such as slippers, socks, hats, etc… from Peru. 15 miles from Escape.

At Escape, during the summer months, we provide you with our own tubes and floating coolers. Guests can either walk down to the river from the suite or drive down and park their car along the river. Tubes are outside the suite doors.
