This private, spacious suite seamlessly blends quintessential Vermont design with a cosmopolitan flair, making it the perfect escape. As the creative collaboration of two woodworkers, no detail was spared in this living gallery unique to southern Vermont. Furnished with artisanal furniture built on-site and nestled on 9 wooded acres within walking distance of the famed Battenkill River, Escape is the perfect place to experience all that southern Vermont has to offer in every season.
“Escape” is a private guest suite on the lower level of a log cabin; the upper level is occupied either by owners or other renters (no children) , but there will never be interaction with guests to ensure you have your privacy and none of your space is shared. Your space is also locked fro the rest of the cabin for your privacy. The exterior part of your suite - only on your side of the cabin- will never be occupied during your stay, to also give you full privacy. View Red Mountain and decompress to the murmur of the Battenkill River in the valley below as heard from your private covered porch, outdoor bar area or hammock; kick back on the property’s one-of-a-kind viewing platform sixteen feet high where the sunsets, views of the Battenkill River and neighboring Red Mountain never disappoint; or simply enjoy a glass of wine in an Adirondack chair beside the stone fire pit, just steps from your private entry.
This secluded retreat offers all the quiet charm of a Vermont getaway with the added bonus of chic modern amenities like a king-sized bed, rustic copper and river rock shower, spa bathrobes, rainfall and LED shower, live edge walnut and oak countertops, kitchenette, full-sized fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster, hot plate, basic cookware (a pot, pan, utensils, glassware, plates, bowls, etc.), Keurig coffee maker, tea kettle, French press, Wifi, cable, articulating flat screen Smart TV for viewing from the living area, bedroom, or kitchenette, cozy cork floors, flat screen Smart TV, and LED fireplace in the living area. Outdoors, enjoy a private covered patio with mountain views, a hammock, two sitting areas, an oudoor fire pit, jumbo Jenga game, plus a private driveway and entrance with your own keypad entrance.
Explore the property’s wooded trails, fish, walk, bike, or run along the Battenkill River or, in the warmer months, tube, canoe or kayak to the historic covered bridge three miles downstream and discover idyllic swimming holes.
Guests are provided with floating tubes and inflatable coolers to store your drinks in as you relax on the river. Guests can access them at any time since they are located within your space.
Conveniently located just three hours from NYC, between Manchester Center and Bennington, approximately a half-hour from Bromley and forty minutes to Stratton (ski resorts), and only an hour from Albany, Mount Snow, and Saratoga Springs.
It is a great location for mountain biking, cycling, kayaking and canoeing if you want to bring equipment for those activities (and there is room under the porch for your gear).

Most places close early, but if you are looking for things to do at night, we are only 20 minutes from Manchester and Bennington where you can find live music, restaurants/bars/breweries, shopping, yoga, golf, bookstores and more. A short drive to Weston (The Vermont Country Store and the Weston Playhouse), Dorset Playhouse, the Long Trail/Appalachian Trail, Bromley Mountain, Stratton Mountain, and Mt. Greylock. Within walking distance to hiking trails, mountain biking trails, River Road, and the Battenkill River. The Arlington Recreation area is only a mile away with a golf course, playground, tennis/basketball courts, walking trails, ice skating rink, and a swimming pond.
